A padlock changes the rules
You can lock your sub in these heels. Well… at least you can lock these heels onto their feet. And that is exactly the point: a shoe the wearer cannot take off works quite differently from a shoe they simply put on.
How it works
The ankle strap carries a metal eyelet next to the buckle. Fasten the buckle, thread a padlock through the eyelet, and the shoe is locked. It cannot come off without the key. Most models ship with a small padlock and two keys; on some you choose the padlock yourself.
About the key
This is where the whole thing turns — the key is effectively the main part of the product. Some wear it around the neck, others put it at the far end of the room. Keep a spare accessible, though, rather than locked away somewhere else. The padlock is a prop, not a trap.
What you will find here
Most often pumps and platform sandals with an ankle strap. Then boots, where the lock sits high at the calf. And the most extreme version, lockable ballet heels, which combine a vertical foot position with a lock — those are firmly for the experienced.
What to watch for
Get the size right, because once the shoe is locked there is no adjusting anything. Test how long you last in the shoe before you lock it for the first time. And keep to the rule that applies to anything restrictive: whoever holds the key stays within earshot.
